Watercress Supplement
Watercress (Nasturtium Officianale) cress leaves containing phytonutrients such as gluconasturtiin, a glucosinolate compound responsible for the peppery flavour.
Watercress is also a rich source of Vitamin C and beta carotene both powerful antioxidants, K1 which contributes to blood clotting, lutein and zeaxanthine. It is also rich in B vitamins and the minerals calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese and phosphorus.
When gluconasturtiin is hydrolysed to 2-phenethyl isothiocyanate it can inhibit Phase 1 enzymes ( monooxygenases and cytochrome P450s).
